You, Me and Gossip Girl.

You, Me and Gossip Girl.

Gossip Girl is everywhere! Going back to the dorms in study hall's a place for studying the girls are gossiping about Gossip Girl. Going back to my hometown Delhi, Students are mimicking Gossip Girl and posting gossip from their school on a website just like in Gossip Girl., even the guys at my school are always going "Oh my god, did you see what she did?!" and "Dan's so stupid who would dump Sarena? She's hot!" And when I went to Singapore for Harvard Model Confrence 2010 my chair ( A Harvard Student) used to watch Gossip Girl!

So I guess it's a party conversation starter... I remember going for a friend's birthday and feeling awkward cause I didn't know anyone and then a girl comes and says, "Hey, do you watch Gossip Girl?" and it's like an instant connection!!

But something less harmful then the trend of posting Gossip is the trend of copying the Gossip Girl fashion. Gossip Girl fashion is all houte couture on 15 to 16 year old girls! Thought I see a lot of girl mimicking the style of Blare Waldorf it's toned down a little, here in the hills it's difficult to walk in high heels and also no one really has the Houte Couture labels. It's more like Zara and Mango rip off's of funky coloured coats, matching hats, barrets and handbags!
I see a lot of Blair style at my school- ultimate girliness! Girls are wearing coats with tights, ballet flats, barrets or hair bands depending on how cold it is with big handbags.

Wear I live fashion has to be met with practicality it's very very cold here with some what central heating so not everything worn on Gossip Girl can be worn here. The weather is mostly cold here, atleast this season, the same weather as in Gossip Girl but we can't afford to take of our coats once we enter buildings. Also our school has some dress coads such as no halter dresses and no mini skirts (unless worn with tights) though rules are bendable as nothing is written in stone you can't completely over ride them.

Currently the styles that are roaming the hallways are Jenny Humphrey's biker jackets and Blair Waldorf's whole look!

Blair Waldorf is ultimate girly fashion tights, heels, bags from super big, to tiny clutches to super big clutches, hats, belts, caps and who can forget HAIR BANDS? She even wears them to her college party when Dan gives her a word of advice on how fitting in at college and head bands don't go together. Yet, all of us find the need to imitate Blair Waldorf.

Sarena Vanderwoodsen however has a more edgy sense of fashion. Leather jackets, tights, mini skirts, mini dresses, boots, studded stuff, tunics worn as dresses, jewellery.

Jenny Humphrey has gone through a big transation she started off as a toned down Blair Waldorf with an obviously girly style in Season one which was coats, funky big bags, leggings and ballet flats or heels worn with barrets to a more punkish style in Season two that eventually became an edgy style. Her style along with Blair Waldorf's is what I see being copied often. In the middle she went to a punkish style with her leggings and plaid tunics/dresses worn with funky high tops or ankle boots. Her outfits were plaid centralist during this "punk phase" of her stylish life. Now her style is completely edgy bored line punkish, the colours that we mostly see on her are black and grey. Her signature piece has become her biker jacket! Her stlye has transformed from girly coats with big funky coloured bags to leather jackets, latex leggings, ankle boots, big handbags, scarves, fingerless gloves.

Vanessa though she's pretty much a minor character like every gossip girl character her look's unique as well. Since Vanessa's not much into cutoure her look's funky; lots of colours, chunky jewellery, funky heels and it's not high budget!

Disclaimer: I know Gossip Girl is everywhere and it's not the central theme of my blog. I will be posting about other TV Shows soon.

Love,
Me.

The Good the Bad and the Ugly.

A question of debate with my friends and I is, "Which one do you like the good guy or the bad guy?" Every TV show has a good guy and a bad guy or there's no drama. A favorite TV show of ours is Gossip Girl, who doesn't like Gossip Girl?

I asked my friends, "Favorite Gossip Girl boy?" and instantly almost everyone shouted, "CHUCK!" followed by, "NO NATE!" In a room of eight girls four voted for Nate and four voted for Chuck. Some of us like my friend Sharon and I could not decide between Nate and Chuck.

In Gossip Girl everyone loves Chuck though Chuck is the bad boy he's got some heart meltingly good characteristics as well like he'd do anything for the girl he loves, yet when it comes to others he is evil, manipulative and just plain BAD. But then he does these things to protect his friends so really to us girls he's a good guy.

Nate's the sweet heart of the show, he looks like a Greek god too (as an added bonus) but other then that he's the one who is always rescuing Sarena and no matter who he's with he's the sweetest guy. He's the friend who's always there for his friends; Nate's a lot like his bestfriend Chuck in that way.

But what about Dan? No one said his name, Dan's a geek but he's not the type of geek that we all fall in love with like Seth from the O.C ! :) Dan's not even innocent he's just foolish, he takes a bunch of irrational decisions cause he doesn't give anyone a chance! Other then that Dan's just plain annoying, yeah he can often be a nice guy but way too often he doesn't do the "right" thing or atleast the things we girls would like to see and he goes and does the stupid jerk like thing to do.

So yeah we vote:
Chuck - The good and bad "hot" (Quoting friends survey) guy that we love
Nate - The good "cute" (Quoting friends survey) guy we love
Dan - The plain WRONG guy....

I'll sign off Gossip Girl style..

Premiere

Dear All,
As my blog title suggests my blog is about you, me and television.
Television is the central theme of my blog, as a television addict I will be giving reviews for TV shows, characters and even the Fashion in TV shows. As a school going student I'm going to relate these TV shows to my school life.

Love,
You, me and TV.
